 After 3 days of action packed table soccer, the first ever FISTF North American Continental Cup aka America Cup 2008 is in the books. It was a fantastic weekend with many players taking their shot at the hardware and some very close and exciting matches. In the end Maryland SC walked away as the big winners claiming the coveted America Cup for Clubs, U-19 and Veterans titles. The winners on the weekend were Zach Walker (Open), Daniel Cranston (U-19), Paul Eyes (Veterans) and Maryland SC (Teams.) Many thanks to all the players who travelled long and far and congratulations to the winners. Hope you all can make it next year to America Cup 2009!

The first ever FISTF Continental Championship for North America is fast approaching. The new tournament coined the "America Cup" is hoping to firmly plant itself as the premiere FISTF event in North America with some big hardware up for grabs and a whole lot of FISTF ranking points. Trophies will be awarded in the Open, U19, U15, Veterans and Team categories. With some top American players already registered for this event, its looking like yet another tough and enjoyable field of play with many great matches sure to happen. The Canadian Subbuteo Table Soccer Association (CSTSA) has recently
experienced the resignation of Chris Buttigieg as head of the
Association. On behalf of all Canadian Table Soccer players, past,
present and future, I would like to wish Chris all the best and say
“Thank You” for his dedicated service over the years. I have stepped
forward as President of the CSTSA in hopes of organizing, promoting and
expanding Table Soccer in Canada.

Desert Cup 2007 Repeated by Foster |

This year’s Desert Cup matches saw some new faces but the same champion. Lenny Foster found his name engraved on the trophy once again, but defeated a new foe in the Cup Final. Eddy McLane, a fresh contender, made his first final appearance only to be defeated by Foster 5-0, in a powerful display. Foster continues to be the player to beat in the Northwest with his top-notch play as he once again makes it through the day undefeated.
