Well after turning down 3 jobs in the past few years, we're finally moving.

Huntsville, Alabama, break out your Lynnrd Skynnrd baby. Sweet Home!

I'll be the GM, VP, and Visionary Master of the domain for

www.rocketcityunited.com

Its and NPSL club that wants to things the right way. I'm very excited about this opportunity as are Mona, Jeff, and Dino the wonderdog. We'll be on the hustle train to get down to BAMA as soon as possible.

Its been great being in SCC - some of the coolest guys I've ever met, and a great support group for us with our trials and tribulations. Plus when we moved to CT some 6 years ago today, it was only a few weeks later when we met Massimo and Jim. Those guys made it possible for Jeff and I to tolerate the state of Connecticut on so many levels.

Wink

So now we head south, we'll be six hours from home (New Orleans), 90 minutes to Chattanooga and Tom's gang, 6 hours from St Louis, I think 5 hours to Cincy, and if all goes well, we'll have an indoor center to call home in late 2008 or 2009.

Oh, I mentioned subby to a couple of the guys and they had heard of it, and wanted to see it in action. Going to be some subby stuff sold to Bama in the near future. Get ready Paul.

Okay need sleep, with the Jeff escapade last night (after I had 20 minutes of sleep) and not sleeping at all Thursday night (6:15 flight, why was the airport so crowded that early in the morning?) and then a long day on Friday, and almost as long Saturday - heck longer I guess. I need some sleep.

Thanks again to the boys from SCC - coolest club out there.

Thanks Steve. Much closer to Cincy now, timing just isn't right. If things change, and we get there early enough...could be time for Larosa's Cracker pizza!;)

That's because its a flight Wink

I think its about 11 hours - so easier to drive to the airport and fly to BWI and have Massimo pick me up in the van Wink

Thanks for the well wishes. if all goes well, Huntsville might become a nice spot on the ASA tour.

Good luck Eddie! What is the relation between the NPSL and the USL?

USL is a separate group of teams, they have three divisions USL1, USL2 (both are professional) and then PDL (amateur). NPSL is currently an amateur league, but this league is owned by the teams, as opposed to the USL where Umbor now owns 97% of the league.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Great news!

You forgot 10 hours from Dallas.

Good luck, and enjoy Alabama.

Flicking in New England since 2001

What do you mean?? You can't leave! We have a league to finish!
This is the worst thing ever happened to your club, still it's great news and a blessing for those whom so dearly we call friends.
It was just a matter of time.. This is from the SCC web site, dated August 21, 2002:

Once again, we played Subbuteo in a hot and humid night
of August. Once again, Massimo won and kept the Cup
home.
So, where are the news? Well, the Italian didn't have a
perfect record; Jim Taylor wasn't late; the Davidsons
started talking about leaving Connecticut.
The Connecticut Wolves are going to play their last game
of this season on Sunday 25th (New England Cup's Final in
New Britain). The City of New Britain, which owns the team,
has intention to drop the Wolves project,
despite their great and profitable season. If no one will
come out with some new ideas, Connecticut could have no
pro-soccer team next year ..and our Eddie--Wolves'
General Manager--no job.
Last night, they were talking about new possible
destinations and asking about Subbuteo associations
around the country. We don't know if they will leave us,
but we know that they will make the local flicking club a fun
and friendly place, wherever they'll be.
We are proud of them and we'll miss them very much.

Indeed.

The SCC won't be the same without you.  You'd better start up the Huntsville Subbuteo Club.

Maybe I'll transfer to the Huntsville Club.  Then I can be in second place.  I'm tired of finishing last in the SLSL.  Grin
