I didn't know there were any Subbuteo players in Hurst, TX...I haven't played in years.  My stuff has been in storage for a long time...

The surface is similar to the Astropitch surface.  It is attached to a cardboard back.  When I played as a kid I always liked the indoor surface because it was smooth and the ball rolled true where the green "outdoor" pitch that came with the set was always bumpy.

Hope this helps!

Lone Star Subbuteo League

Hey, Adam,

Lone Star Subbuteo League is based in Hurst, we play near the Hurstview/Glade intersection (not in the street... one of our guys lives around there.)  We play once a month for official league games, but meet for friendlies more often.  We have two guys who live in Hurst, one in Keller, and I'm in Euless, and then there's one more guy who drives up from Austin for the official games.

If you think you might ever want to flick, let us know - we'd love to have you join us for a day, or join the league.

If it's been that long since you've played, you'd be surprised at the advances that have been made in equipment.  We tried to start playing 15 years or so ago with the old subbuteo bases and it was so frustrating, we quit, but picked it up again a few years ago when we found new, more fun bases.

We're heading up to St Louis for a tournament the last weekend of this month, but will have an official league match day in April.
