Another method that I feel is simple and effective (if I can explain it well enough) is to use painters drop cloth and spray adhesive.

You will need a couple of really cheap drop cloths, I mean like the ones that are really thin and cost about $1 a piece.

What I do is like Jeremy, I get my pitch laying really flat with the help of a heat gun or hairdryer.
Then mark the corners with pencil.

I then cover the whole table with the pitch still on it with a drop cloth.

Pull the drop cloth toward one end of the table until about half the pitch is
exposed. Weigh down the pitch covered in drop cloth with something fairly heavy. A nice 5 pound weight works great. Some soup cans, etc...

Very carefully roll the exposed pitch back upon itself and over the top of the drop cloth.

You should have rubber side up laying on the drop cloth. Spray the exposed rubber paying attention to only go about 6 inches from where the pitch is rolled over the drop cloth.

Now unrill it and you should be laying right back on the pencil marks. If not you can adjust a little but if you done this right, you will line right back up.

Roll the glued part down with your hand very gently to get it set.

Replace the drop cloth with a second one to get rid of the glue overspray.

Put down a second cloth. This timeyou want to cover all the glued down part.

Roll the remaining unglued pitch back onto the drop cloth. Spray the newly exposed part and roll it back down onto the board.Go slowly and rub out any bubbles as you go.

My results from this were great.

Hope I explined myself well enough.
